Having an umbrella liability policy.

I'm in South Florida, so I also have a separate flood insurance policy.The key (according to my CPA and insurance agent) is to get an umbrella policy.Of course, for claims, you don't want to use your own insurance unless you have to. 

On a side note, whoever you decide to go with, you should definitely look into an umbrella policy if you don't already have one. 

Because the properties are under one llc we were are able to place the Insurance under an umbrella policy which save 25% on the cost of insurance.

Should I just increase my umbrella coverage limits or try to insulate my self also with an LLC?

And then an umbrella insurance policy will cover liability issues for the property (which is what everyone thinks they need an LLC for).

Ok, to summit it up for for everyone....The sky is either starting to fall or going to eventually fall...BUT, if you have a big enough and strong umbrella, you should be fine.

Another option is an umbrella policy.
