I've seen some get cutoff with a semi-hostile reminder from the crowd.Some REI clubs, such as those sponsored nationally, intend to make a profit and you should recognize this before you go.

Reminds me of owning a Winery in the Napa valley you make money when you sell a PM business.. you can actually do pretty good if you have a few thousand doors..
