Banks will do a credit check, but not a background check (I can't speak for all banks, but I've been in retail/commercial banking for a while now). and you can do lots of investing without banks at all anyway.One of the BP podcasts had a very successful investor who had recently gotten out of prison.

I would recommend staying away from vinyl planks with adhesive tabs, they are notoriously problematic and fall apart easily when any direct sunlight hits them.
