When you flip houses you are actually buying the property on speculation that you will be able to sell it for a premium once you rehab it.

We can only speculate, but its likely not good. 

I like to get this out of the way quickly so there's no speculation.

Can't wade through all the ones speculating about it to find the one where it actually happened.

I saw a lot of this in Nashville, payments in cash every week.Not my  cup of tea and it lead me to all kinds of speculation as to why, but didn't stick around to find out.

And yes, anytime anybody suggests that there are other ways to invest besides purely for cashflow, we get labeled speculators ... that's fine, I'll laugh all the way to the bank.

Just know that holding property there takes a ton of capital, but the hope (speculation) would be in appreciation and not so much in cashflow.

it's investing and relies alot on speculation.

Another idea i have been speculating about is buying a house and having roommates help pay for a mortgage. i am really just looking for the best way to start investing in real estate and from what ive been reading, it seems that your first home is usually your first investment. please let me know of anymore ideas that might fit my situation. thanks

It can probably be rented to locals in the off-season (Sep - May) at normal rates but I speculate its a tough business model.
