So, (I dug up my old estimate for the job) - $1300 retail price for new cabinets, -20% (bought on sale), -20% (I bought gift-cards for 80% of face value off craigslist to pay for the cabinets)-$300, selling the old cabinets...

Another option would be for each party to gift each other somehow (we've known each other for years and have full trust) - a quick deed and a cash gift.
