If you don't mind living a little outside of the city, Ferndale and Royal Oak are great places to look, especially for young professionals. 

When you meet someone in line at a store you are steering the conversation, when you are at a function and meeting people you are networking.

I've been studying the stuff for a year-and-a-half and haven't done anything because I had experience time  and again of how just me with one mind makes mistakes.
