While I don't quite share @Mark Fries black and white view on the matter of what it takes to be successful, I think @Ryan Beasley that you are over generalizing and that leads you to ignore reality. 

I don't want to discriminate but since I rent by the room I don't think it would be right to have a mother and her child living with some 18 year old party guys or a creepy old man living with some younger girls.
