So I had to counter all the BS negatives he produced with pictures and documentation to assist the buyer - - 'fait accompli',  appraisal came in just 5k short the the listing price.The inspector was just way off base, opening subpanel covers and complaining on  the wiring - - just cleared by the City :sheeze:   Also made many ridiculous recommendations, including installing drains in all the flower beds.ALL such recommendations can be denied, I did, and I still closed at the listing price.Then too, the inspector & the appraiser both FAILED to cite a recent change in Code (cc 505.1) and it only got caught by the Fire Marshal and I had to scramble to get that corrected.

To apply this to flowers; if the profit a prendre was for flowers and the individual had set up a flower shop, and your denying access to the lawn injured that flower shop, you are liable for the damages to that flower shop.The amount of damages you could be on the hook for are wildly fact dependent.

Also I would consider raised beds, they are slightly more temporary, and can easily be replanted with perennial flowers that are easy to maintain if she vacates and you don't want to continue to offer a garden.
