The IRA's LLC are nice vehicle, but you have to keep an arms length distance to prevent self-dealing or engaging in prohibited transactions.

@Bill Gulleyyou are incorrect, her daughter is prohibited from providing services to Kathryn's 401k plan, regardless if she is getting paid or not (she is clearly being compensated here through her broker).

Typically a lease will prohibit tenants changing locks and give the owner/agents the right to access the property anytime as long as 24 hour notice is given for any (reasonable) reason.
