We were very blessed.As far as real estate goals, my goal would be to become a successful REI and eventually set myself and my family up for a health passive income system.  

The short list of what I am seeing - very capital intensive - the repairs to the property needed to meet all code and health requirements typically require a construction budget that far exceed the value of the property. 

(Let's assume for a moment that the seller/agent may not be honest, in other words I am asking how do you know other than "the listing agent said there is no lead.")Are there any other health hazard items that you check for before purchasing?

Also, if I have to hear "mold in the vents and health hazard..." again, even though they have never provided verifiable evidence (simple mold kit test result), and have also made no attempt to vacate early, well....
