The overall mindset is that a sure thing cash flowing nice and with good tenants is better than nothing and if they were to sell they would rather have the next deal already lined up rather than let the money burn a hole in their pocket.

And people who end up on the streets and remain on the streets, either don't have a support system or they have burned so many bridges with their support system through their behaviors that their support system won't allow them to stay with them anymore.

For example, a burned out electrical box (happened to me a couple of weeks ago on one of my rentals), or leaking water lines (also recently in a different rental) constitute "emergency" repairs where the PM doesn't need my approval.
