Yes, that is the original house hacking strategy, but it really only works well if you've built up enough equity over the time you lived in the first one to depart and end up no money in when you refi.

Work on tax strategies with that person.

At the end of the day, thats a much later in the game strategy.

Try not to buy too much too fast just so you can feel comfortable that the strategy that you're deploying is working as expected.
