Several weeks ago, after having my kitchen fully gutted, I was ready for the electrical to be done (new fixtures added, outlets for appliances, etc.)Being new to SC (I have 6 rental units in Ohio currently), I did not have any relationship with contractors as I do most of the cosmetic work myself.

As many in this thread mention this increases risk, possibly unexpected costs, and REQUIRES a team on the ground.We feel as though if you are going to start looking at properties in your "local" market that are 2 or more hours away that is essentially remote or out of state anyway.

All rules/regulations are and should be part of the rental agreement, unless there is an addendum created after the fact for something unexpected and not covered in the original agreement.
