Now your neighbor suddenly turns his/her home into a short-term rental because there's no specific zoning law that prohibited it since it wasn't "a thing" before 10-15 years ago, and most zoning laws are a century old or so, and you are expected to live with the aggravation while your former neighbor profits.

All of a sudden removing tile is becoming a cost that I never dealt with when I bought my current properties years ago.
