Floors 10 years life span(carpet only 5), appliances and hot water heater 12 year life span, hvac 20 year life span, bath and kitchen remodel 20 year life span, etc. 

Have other properties in the area been upgraded with new kitchens and baths and this property is still dated?

Also keep in mind that I will be installing a brand new kitchen, not sure what people prefer on this forum as to installing kitchen cabinets on subfloors or new flooring.

We agreed to help out the estate by removing all remaining furniture and goods, we found a local agency that we could donate a left over stairlift to.After the purchase we updated all light fixtures, added carpet, painted everything and refreshed the kitchen and bathroom.

Looking to add a shower in one of the bathrooms and also a small kitchen.

Purchase price: $270,000We ended up replacing the kitchen countertops with granite, replacing the water heater, and painting some of the walls before leasing it out.

Some improvements were completed when we first purchased with intent to rent (new roof, etc) some improvements in 2015 when we were going to move in (new kitchen, updated bath) and misc improvements as needed during last 8 years.
