Why would he sell his 200K worth house for 70K, doesn't make sense.Like @Jaysen Medhurst said , If it worth 120k, you will get %75-%80 of it back, so it will bring you back to 90ish, you will pocket 20K, so still okay deal.Although there are banks that does't require seasoning, you might have to wait a little.If you are not comfortable about writing the address, you can provide the block or area, I or another Baltimore BP person would tell you the market value.

You also need to understand the areas your looking in as one house that sells for $300k in one area of the street might not sell for that one or two blocks down the street or even the next street over.

I am considering developing a web-based mapping platform that will allow single family home investors -- and their service providers/advisors -- to quickly determine suitable locations in the US to focus their investment efforts (down to the block group or subdivision).I wanted to get some quick feedback on whether you would use such a tool or think that someone would.My thinking is the target audience is people with no geographic restriction and are open to anything -- the ultimate out-of-state-investor -- who wants to find areas worth focusing on.

So much disrespect thrown out towards Chicago and specifically the South Side of the city, I hope the numbers will change a few minds.In the words of a local developer I highly respect Leon Walker "the difference between Gentrification and Venture Development is INTENT” http://www.dl3realty.com/venturedevelopmentIf you are not in the City, you may not know there is a tremendous resurgence happening on the South Side of Chicago.As a native of Brooklyn, if you would have told me my neighborhood as a child in the 80s (Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY) would have turned into Million Dollar homes a on every block I would have laughed at you.

For context there's townhomes starting at 650k being built like 6 houses down and condos starting at 850k being built two blocks away.
