@Russell Brazil those ranges sound like what I've seen in my market as well working on my own and with my mentor broker (she's in a high-end 6-figure to occasional 8-figure market).

Ultimately it was your fault (or your CPA's fault) for not knowing the deadline, but if it is a first time offense occasionally the IRS will waive the penalty.It doesn't hurt to call and ask for the penalty abatement.

(And we did have occasional issues during the 4 years,  payments got missed about once a year and I had to follow up.)
