I found this out this week, while being gone and could not set a code for a guest.I have also automated my cleaning staff by doing a checklist and training them what you expect and look for. this is a win-win, because you keep them working and they keep an eye out for your investment.

I think prior to shopping for locks making a list of wants that you need the locks to do like remote access, changeable codes, lock logs, staff access, etc. and go from there.

There are also services (like mine) that offer to handle the day-to-day (admin-type) items that take so much time (such as replying to inquiries, communicating with guests, setting up payments, creating & sending contracts, etc….) while you are still involved by finding & hiring your housekeeping/maintenance staff, stocking the property or conducting regular maintenance (if you live nearby), paying the taxes that are collected, etc.
