I was under the impression syndication deals didn't provide the tax benefits of investing in real estate, but came across an interesting article on BP yesterday explaining that syndication deals often can provide full tax benefits if structured right.

I was under the impression you could claim deprecation for the whole year no matter when you bought it as long as it was in operation.

I am under the impression that a lawyer can help you set up your first one and that its just a matter of filing it properly, which varies by state.

I enjoyed hearing his story (as described above in his introduction to the group) & I'm impressed by what he has achieved thus far.

I should see the final appraisal by Monday but the Appraiser seemed very impressed.  

Neither of these deals seem too impressive, but maybe one of them you can get the seller to work down to 180,000, or even 160,000.
