I am hoping to save around $50,000 in my investments by the end of internship, then will have 8 months of school before I graduate.

My time during the school year and, hopefully, in dental school will be limited due to the workload but I still would like to learn about the industry and how to invest in it.

If you mean it doesn't have newer homes, but has good schools, lawns are cut, houses are taken care of and it is safe; I'd have no problems buying there.
