Loan interest is deductible based on the use of the loan, not the asset securing the loan. 

Look up the local wholesalers in the area. 

@Anade DavisHi Anade, You’re on the right track with reaching out to your survey and engineering company—they often have strong connections to local contractors.

But seems to me to at least give them some months to come up with a plan and start paying then if that does not happen you can slam dunk them.  ???

@Jonathan Greene and @Mike Grudzien I agree but I was hoping to hear from some certified appraisers and if they would comp leased land versus owned land in an appraisal.Jonathan, you are guaranteed the land through the current lease period, but not guaranteed of a renewal.
