Any lender is going to take a very dim view of you trying to steal their collateral unless they are content to abandon their lien.The best advice I can give is to talk to all parties and make sure they are OK with your plan first before you pay out any money to anyone.

I think that's a little bit too much of a macro view.

Since those expenses don't really belong to the 6-plex, and we may never act on the property we are viewing, does that mean the expenses are not deductible?

It has a reverse floor plan (kitchen and living area on second story to take advantage of view, which is now somewhat obscured)  Current rent is 3,450.
