Some additional food for thought: rather than looking for the almost perfect condition home there, and since u are all cash, find a home in the neighborhood of choice that is a short sale or reo that is thrashed, get a smoking deal on it, fix it up and then rent.

There was a ready made "supply" from guys leaving to go back to the states and a ready made "demand" from guys rotating in.I had some business cards printed up (get the cheapest, plainest, B&W) from Office Depot or similar.

I would also argue that many of these children are on government assistance already...which, if managed correctly, would supply plenty of food for these families.

Basically, if everybody in the world deposited all their US cash in the bank and the Fed incinerated every single bill and coin, our money supply would NOT change one bit.Of course, they would have to get the presses rolling again as soon as people started hitting the ATM's. :-)
