Hi all,As a relative newcomer with more than an ounce of caution and skepticism, I wanted to get some opinions on investing in "luxury" properties.

I can't believe this but just the other day I got into a discussion with a relative about how lower class breeds lower class, and middle class breeds middle class....why?

In the beginning of my investing career, I had to take some proportionally large risks to start moving forward financially.I like to play poker occasionally, and I relate it to a good general poker strategy.

I know that the government bought some of the property from another relative to keep them from building there.

I'm thinking of notes which would either have a higher interest rate or be overly-discounted (relative to most private notes) because the payor is percieved as having a higher risk of default (bad credit, bad payment history, etc.).

Hi all,Wanted to start out by saying thanks for some great info on here.First let me say I'm relatively new to real estate investing, and I come from a technical engineering background and am finding it VERY difficult to justify things I've been told to say by my coaches, because to me it feels like I'm manipulating instead of being straight forward and honest.

and net worth is a relative term - you can have a million networth on paper but be broker than a bumb in the street.broke means, you have no liquid cash - that's bad. liquid cash or assets are simply easy to get to with no hassles.

But, as the housing market has drastically slowed over the past year (even in the face of relatively stable, lower interest rates) those sellers and their agents, who understand seller-carryback financing will make more sales!

My advice, go for the smaller projects and avoid the "home run" deals and build up some good relations with the various trades.
