"Subject To" deals would be one example of this, where the new owner takes title, leaving the lien in place from the former owner's loan.IMO, there will be some exceptions on the title policy for which you would have no title insurance coverage, were a claim to arise on one of these exceptions.Preliminary "full" title report would probably identify whatever issues might need to be addressed.
