If you pay it down faster, as you get closer to payoff and you see your interest payment amount is not very high, then you might not mind letting the additional principal ride the few remaining years.

Let's assume that they guy in the robe just looks at some smaller investor type selling a mobile home for a quick $6K profit and financing it doesn't really feel like hitting the seller up for a $10K fine, the judge thinks that the seller just did something beyond his level of awareness, but just nullifies the note and security agreement and allows the deed to remain in place. :) He just lost his $6K profit and his costs in buying the property.
