I'm currently screening properties to anticipate whether a bank would even allow the owner to sell the property short vs. heading toward foreclosure with property values moving higher and foreclosure rates moderating (allegedly) to where they have stabilized the falling markets by withholding the onslaught of foreclosures.

I have used Dry-lock from Lowes, it works for 5 years I know on a block foundation at the lake.....the french drain is probably a better solution.

When you get around lake properties I have had many concessions concerning boats and docks being included with the home.....it can be a pain for the lender.What ever is common in your area, what the lender would like to see is what you should go with, imo.
