This depends on if it's feasible and there is room between the ceiling and the roof.

Write off a bigger $ loss?

Airbnb is already lobbying for this so hopefully some headway is made and hosts losing ten of thousands of dollars a month due to unfair cancellation policies (whole other argument) can recoup some losses and at least be able to pay their mortgages.

Many were hopeful IRS would have made an announcement regarding filing due date relief, but it's understandable the Coronavirus is testing emergency plans of every business, including IRS.Generally, no taxes were due yesterday since income/losses from partnership and s-corp returns passthrough to individuals.

I'd be really annoyed if there was a loss, but the insurance adjuster came in and said the unit was 80% depreciated. 

As of today I have not heard from any tenants about being unable to pay future rent due to job losses/reduction due to coronavirus, but I have not actively asked either.

For those unable to make rent due to loss of job etc., how are you handling?

This morning my wife woke up suggested we cut our losses and let this one go until things start to look normal again.

The impact of this response to the virus is going to certainly lead to business failures & job losses that will increase the likelihood of a recession that will not necessarily "bounce back". 

Otherwise we're talking about months of record unemployment, job loss, and foreclosure/eviction.
