It does happen, but that's just a bonus.  

It says nothing about how many dollars will be in your pocket after you've counted your chips when the casino is closed.

@Levi Koskan What about cutting the "friend" in with a finder's fee: ie, some rent control or a cash bonus if the deal does happen from his assist?

Focus on that, any appreciation you eventually may get is just a bonus.
