I've found meetups using BP and the app Meetup, both of which are awesome, you can search for meetups in your local area or expand the search. 

I’ve had luck using an app called Neighbor.

I am currently in Wisconsin, though mostly mobile anymore.

It has a desktop version and a mobile app.

I also could have done it all myself and have started an RV/mobile park surrounding the lake.

Sure, you could mobilize the equity in your home and try to make it perform for you. 

Once you have the place furnished most of the work can be handled by automated messages in Airbnb app or a channel manager (I use guesty for hosts) and a Pricing software (I use price labs for example).

I'll definitely look into both of those apps and see what we can find.
