We escaped CA in 81 and moved there with 5 kids under 11 for the same reasons- escape Ca, girls had horses and ponies, boys had motorcycles, completely self-sufficient and clean air.Our final child was born in Cottage Grove in 84.

I can't tell you how mad I got while putting myself and my husband through school (spending 10's of thousands of dollars from out own pockets) just to find out the girl next to me is getting everything paid for her, plus transportation, plus child care, all because she had a child, couldn't support him/her herself, and to top it off, got mostly D's in the classes.
