To the contrary in my experience sellers reply to such demands as you've shared has been "tell them to kick rocks".

They're basically saying, we are liars and can't be trusted....and other people should know we are liars and cant be trusted.In my experience, assessors rely on the representations of the property owners as to whether they're intitled a particular exemption i.e. 65+ and/or homestead.

ITs certainly in the ballpark but I think you can do better most likely - especially with your experience of owning five rentals - certainly some options here on BP to shop around - but the rates and points seem a tad high - you could probably secure something with both a lower rate and origination (and potentially no appraisal cost as some Hard Money Lenders don't require them)
