@Carl W.Correct; renting out the loft as an "Artist Studio or Loft" means it's a private space for an artist to paint, sculpt, write - it's a creative not living space.

But, if you're single, don't need a lot of space, don't want to house hack, and can get into a studio or 1 bedroom for significantly less than the mortgage of a small house, it may not be a bad idea.
