Add to that an over packed apartment, standing water, plants, furniture against the baseboard heat, keeping the air temp high and not opening the windows..chances are you are going to see mildew or mold.

The new drywall had paint that is no longer a uniform color or texture, but rather consists of a mixture of crayon drawings, dried food stuffs and trails of sticky juice splattered on the walls.

How about buying a big full plant or tree or three and put them in big pretty pots to put in that space.
