The county records reflect the current assessment for the current buyers for 2019, and in no place show what the assessment would have been for the period the house belonged to me and my sister (a higher assessment than the period when the house was my father´s).  

@Riley Ricobene If you plan to rent out, keep a close eye on assessment as that's the profit killer on any condo deal.

HOA issues, future assessments in regards to Hurricane damages Did you work with any real estate professionals (agents, lenders, etc.) that you'd recommend to others?

@Shawn Burns I won't tell you if you should do it now or later - but it is worth mentioning that this will likely have an impact on the assessment of your condo value, which in turn may raise your taxes.

My next concern was getting re-assessed and when they might expect to be doing that. 

To say it again, you should rely on your agent to assess the value and the comps.
