Also, Michigan is a blue state, so I won't be surprised if they have tax liens vs tax deeds, in which case its a super long process to get the property and the owner can clear up the lien to get his rights back.

This would provide me a more exact blue print to use on analyzing the next property.

@Paul Sandhu has some excellent advice, and his niche that caters to blue-collar short-term workers is not nearly as crowded as the more traditional STR space.  

It really surprises me, and disturbs me a little, to think that you could call an employer out of the blue and say "Jane Doe works for you, right?
