This area is hot right now and the land values are "projected" to continue to skyrocket because we are stealing large corporations from all over the US and planting them here.  

Hi Peter - I originally moved over to the island 20 years ago (pre-R.E.) and I'm glad I've found myself here as the prices have not skyrocketed like back on the mainland and while difficult compared to south of the border, one's still able to buy a simple rental and get a positive cash flow which, when combined with patience yields the ultimate dividend.Nanaimo's definitely an interesting place with a number of parallel markets in play.

We live in the Greenlake neighborhood where the prices have skyrocketed and wanted to say here.

I have seen housing prices skyrocket during my time in middle/high school and then the housing bubble burst, so I guess I'm getting into investing at a more "stable" time.I have been looking around the forums for a little bit and it's pretty evident that there are a LOT of smart people here.  

Price skyrocketed 15%.

Even as multifamily construction continues to skyrocket, apartment buildings are not able to shoulder the demand on their own.

Also I rent in the area and rental prices have skyrocketed literally overnight.

Now that we have set off on this journey and rents in NYC skyrocketing, we are contemplating whether to continue expanding on out-of-state SFR investments or explore the path of FHA approved house hacking in NYC/NJ metro area. 

I would love to put more aside for my retirement however health care premiums are sky rocketing every year.
