We are trying to find out the best/cost effective way to refinish or remove. 2 of the photos are of the fire place and it looks like this may be a panel that was placed over the original drywall and then finished.

Electric needed up date, Plumbing had alot of issues, the house was full of stuff left from the last people to live there, holes in walls, needed paint, hardwood floors needed to be sanded and re-finished, and bought appliances as there were none.

.$3000 is due upon the completion of refinishing hardwood floor $12000 is due upon the completion of the tile wall and floor installation in the bathroom and installing kitchen cabinets countertop $7500 is due upon the completion of building the storage house in back yard with most of the landscape work prepared or done.$4000 is due upon the completion of the interior and exterior paint.$3500 is due upon passing city final permit inspections. balance of $3000 is due upon the completion punch list

Pretty much a full renovation: Refinished floors, all new paint, kitchen cabinets, granite countertops, gutted both bathrooms, new tile in bathrooms, tile shower, new vanitys, carpet, exterior paint, new garage, the whole nine yards.

If the brass seat has become pitted, there is a grinding type of tool to re-finish the surface so that it is flat (or just replace the seat again, but usually the seat can be re-finished at least once).

If you are hiring self employed workers (hardwood floor refinishers are a good example), They will tell you all day long that they're "licensed and insured", but they most likely do not have work comp coverage.

With the limited number of comps, it's hard to tell though.After figuring up costs to refinish floors, gut and update the bathroom, update the kitchen, and repaint interior/exterior, I estimate the repairs to be around 14k.
