I found this forum a couple months ago and have been soaking up as much knowledge as possible since then.

I too, like you have been just soaking up information--reading as much information that I can absorb.   

Most people start the BRRRR process using their own seed money saved up from their day job.

"Every adversity, every failure, and every heartache, carries with it the Seed of an equivalent or greater Benefit."

Go before they come up with a tax on selling a property like they soak you in some places.

A great take-way here is you dug in and saved your pennies hard early on - you did not start RE with nothing - and then once you had enough seed, took it as hard as you could.What a great success story.

Using your seed capital as a starting point, I would start with asking "do I want to be an active or passive investing AND what is the goal here or what does success look like? 

Instead I slowly planted seeds that allowed me to bring up REI without it sounding so scary.
