As I indicated at the beginning I'm sure there are less labor intensive ways to get ahead in real estate but this get-wealthy-slow, sweat-equity path has been really low risk and reasonably lucrative.

It doesn't make sense for me to look at a home and guess at what work needs to be done.Even if you're considering doing some of the work yourself, it's worth it to have them quote you labor and materials, so you have a gauge of how much materials cost.
