Are we in the early, middle, or late stage of an expansionary cycle?

I want to spend my time with my wife and family instead of being stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean with a bunch of people I barely know.

I want to take control of my own funds and be rid of the middle man.

I'm in the middle of flipping my first house and hopefully about to sign for the 2nd next week.

I had a tenant lose his job in the middle of lease and was late on current month rent.

Wanted to see what people's thoughts were about purchasing a flip or rental near (across from) a middle school or high school.I can see pros (easy commute) and cons (noise, traffic), but wanted to see whether others have their own preferences.

They sometimes make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year but live just like their neighbors (lower middle class lifestyle) and don't want others to see them differently.

We were in the middle of three rehabs at one time, when we got orders back to England. 

I think it depends on your area, in the middle of a city there will be less dog owners per se, but as you get away from the big cities I think more people have pets then don't.
