On the surface - this sounds like a conflict - which is what I was trying to avoid in working with a "Buyer's Agent".  

Otherwise, you'd be better off listening to sound advise rather than "soundbites" and vague truisms from people who either (1) have something to sell you or (2) lack experience and knowledge in the field of real estate investments. 

And it sounds like you definitely need a new handyman - not wanting to work around mean people is no good explanation for late projects. 

You want to build your REI team and it sounds like you already have an important piece. 

I doubt they will return and sounds like since your most recent post the time has lapsed so you can enter. 

But sounds like you have family there so that should be big advantage.
