I finally got mad and just called the company for support.

They got mad at that.The estoppel letter sounds like a great solution because that was exactly my fear - there really was a contract.

It's taken me years to hone my homeless looking painter plumber handyman skills where most tenant  requests are above my pay grade and they don't get mad.
