Realtor is just a trade association for real estate licensees.

The ones my company offers are registered with the SEC and are not traded on the stock market. 

Large multi family is trading high low 5's to high 6s depending on location, class, etc.

Although not the best cash-on-cash return, the money I have spent on my personal home has helped make priceless memories for my family and me that I wouldn't trade for anything!

I graduated college a few years ago and I am a CPA by trade, but I plan on pursuing some real estate investing (probably via buy-and-hold/rental property at least to start) in the near future.
