What I had not realized is that it was purchased by the person who owned the lot next to it and that they were to combine the lots into a large multiplex compound (8 units total).

Today I had another contractor in, notably less experienced, who all of 5 minutes walking through the house before commenting that I cant remove the walls I had knocked large holes into, as they "have to be load bearing" in his opinion.

Honestly, it's been a great property to own so far (I know the time is limited) and the current tenants, on top of paying their own utilities, handle a lot of their own maintenance, too.As an investor I'm in full acquisition mode and looking to acquire additional properties, deal permitting, and scale up swiftly.

there are not enough lawyers on our coast to take care of the massive volume of real estate transactions ala the way its done in attorney closing states.. there would be a big need to scale up if all of a sudden attorneys had to be involved not to mention slow things way down.. the other one that we simply don't do out our way is all the surveying that gets done.. its rare to the extreme to survey a property that was in a lot and block subdivision … but since I build in Charleston you MUST survey there there are encroachments all over the place. but like in Texas they survey lot and block as well.
