At that point though, you're more likely gambling than investing.

Couple that with the fact that most of the big cabin companies don't utilize many of the major booking platforms (as those are the platforms that will eventually put them out of business one day if they don't adapt), you've got yourself a property that doesn't NET money.

Hello BP community - my name is Brian and I’m based in NYC.I’m new to this platform and also new to out-of-state investing but I’m interested in learning more about investing in Kansas City given what I have seen online about this market regarding potential cash flow and appreciation potential. 

While I doubt this is likely for a Sec 8 tenant there is bound to be a percent of people that will eventually pay when they want to buy a house or other large purpose so as long as there isn't a large cost it is a gamble I would take if nothing else just for principal.  

If not, you're just gambling blindly.

I rent my personal home out on the Air BnB platform while I'm deployed six months of the year.

Speculation is gambling, and gold has basically zero worth as an investment IMO as it generates no cash flow, and never will.

The people that own these vacant properties probably don't know where to turn, and you come riding in on your faithful steed (social media platform of your choosing) offering them an opportunity to rid themselves of something that is taking away from their ability to live a better and more fulfilling life (financially speaking).
