I have not put any in my units but strongly considering it for a 2 family I have but did add 4 two bedroom apartments to an apartment building recently ( space was commercial) and the hvac contractor installed 3 units per apartment ( 1 in living space and 1 in each bedroom) the construction went through the winter and those units kept the apartments nice and warm.

If you want a little more equity you should try and find a knowledgeable broker who isint just going to stick you with a “nice house” but a good rental property.
