Also figure out the price for material, delivery and hauling away the old shingles as once the owner knows that, he may realize he's not saving that much...plus he has to factor in his flight, hotel and food to get to the US and time off his current job.

@Tyler LeeYou'd probably be surprised what a half-hearted amateur sanding, some homemade filler mixed out of Elmer's Glue-All and the sawdust from your floor sanding, and three coats of brush-applied gloss polyurethane will do for most hardwood floors, however heavily scratched.
