These areas are close enough to each other that growth/appreciation are going to be very similar, if not identical.

As a property management company we always do the following:Credit Check, Background Check, Income Verification, Call Current Boss, Call Current Landlord.

As real estate investors we are biased to buying more real estate, but we shouldn't make decisions without verification to what our gut tells us.  

I'm not suggesting it be mandated that you cut anyone a break because they're a veteran, but it's BS to give them specifically a worse deal, virtually all banks, however, do exactly that, inclusive of ones with "Ultra Freedom Veteran America" type names (yes you can make fun of the name of the place my license is presently hung if you want).The last minute verification of employment is becoming the norm.
