One private lender locally I know of does offer those second and third position loans to the crowd - high risk, equally high return - though I suspect they'll get disrupted by more efficient crowdfunding platforms.Bottom line: as a small-time borrower, the crowdfunding platforms are still very expensive and not generally useful for long-term first lien financing.
